As Board Chair of the Asian American Unity Coalition (AAUC), I’m honored to introduce the AAUC News Portal, a new digital space created to amplify the voices, stories, and impact of grassroots AANHPI organizations across the country. This portal is more than a communications tool; it’s a reflection of our collective commitment to visibility, authenticity, and unity.
Across the nation, local leaders and community builders are doing extraordinary work organizing youth programs, advocating for policy change, preserving cultural heritage, and fostering cross-cultural understanding. Yet too often, these efforts remain unseen or underrepresented in mainstream narratives. The News Portal was born out of a desire to change that. We envisioned a space where organizations could speak directly to the community and to each other with pride and purpose.
This platform is designed to be accessible, inclusive, and community driven. Organizations can share updates, reflections, event announcements, and calls to action in their own words, without needing to navigate complex media channels or gatekeepers. Whether you’re a small nonprofit, a student-led initiative, or a long-standing cultural institution, your voice belongs here.
The News Portal also serves as a bridge, connecting organizations across ethnic, generational, and geographic lines. By sharing our stories side by side, we begin to see the threads that unite us: a commitment to justice, a reverence for heritage, and a belief in the power of collective action. In this way, the portal becomes not just a repository of news, but a living archive of our movement.
I invite all AANHPI organizations to contribute to the portal and make it your own. Submit your stories, celebrate your milestones, and let others know what you’re working on. This is a space where your work will be honored, your voice will be heard, and your impact will be recognized.
Launching this portal is a milestone for AAUC, but it’s also a beginning. As we prepare for the 2025 AANHPI Unity Summit and continue building platforms for collaboration and advocacy, the News Portal will play a vital role in shaping how we connect, communicate, and grow together.
Thank you to everyone, especially Mr. Ted Fong, who has helped bring this vision to life. I look forward to reading your stories, learning from your experiences, and continuing this journey toward greater visibility and unity.
