These past few years have tested our resolve. Hate crimes, exclusion, and the rollback of equity programs remind us that our place in America is still being questioned—no matter how deeply rooted our families, cultures, and contributions are.
I’ve heard this pain echoed in countless conversations—with elders, young advocates, and community leaders alike. Many of us feel unwelcome in our own neighborhoods, unseen in classrooms and boardrooms, and unheard in decisions that affect our lives.
But silence is not our story. Resilience is.
On July 4, I had the honor of marching with the Edina Asian American Alliance—from City Hall to downtown Edina, Minnesota—flanked by neighbors, families, and friends. It wasn’t just a parade; it was a proud declaration that we belong, that our presence matters, and that we are shaping the American story together. Moments like that remind me why we must keep going.
I believe now is the time to step forward together—not just in defense of our identities, but in celebration of our legacy and leadership. Let’s support AAPI organizations, speak at public forums, mentor rising voices, and build coalitions that reflect the rich mosaic of who we are.
We belong here. And our presence must be felt—not just during heritage months, but every single day.
I urge you to join us in the upcoming 2025 Unity Summit in Washington DC to make our voice heard. Visit AAUC.us to explore initiatives, share your story, and become part of the change.
Let’s be visible. Let’s be vocal. And let’s move forward as one.
