About Us

AAUC Board Chair Dr. SK Lo at the 2025 AAUC Unity Summit in Washington, D.C.

Founded in 2019, AAUC envisions a nation where Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) communities achieve economic and social success, are treated fairly with equal political representation, and are free to pursue their dreams regardless of race, ethnicity, or nationality.

Our mission is to communicate, advocate, and collaborate with AANHPI member organizations and individuals to identify our common goals and amplify our voices to address social, political, and economic barriers. We bring together nonprofits, advocates, businesses, and community leaders to achieve this mission.

Programs

AAUC programs are designed to connect members of the AANHPI community, amply their voices, and promote activities that serve our common cause. These programs include:

  • Online workshops, town halls, and discussion groups
  • National and regional meetings
  • The AAUC News Portal
  • The AAUC Podcast
  • The AAPI Research Hub

Governance

AAUC is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors, whose members belong to organizations that pay annual dues. It elects the Board Chair, President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer. The Executive Committee consists of these elected officers plus the standing committee chairs and the immediate past president. It is the steering group that supports the board by handling urgent, strategic decisions between meetings, overseeing management performance, and ensuring operational efficiency.

The Executive Director, hired by the Board, oversees daily operations including community relations, event management, fund development, and IT infrastructure.

Membership

AAUC has four types of memberships:

  • National Organization Membership with voting rights
  • Regional/Local Organization Membership with voting rights
  • Individual Lifetime Membership with voting rights
  • Individual Membership with no voting rights
